To make learning interesting and more interactive, faculty uses modern teaching gadgets provided in the classroom. To access the students' progress periodical examinations are conducted. Students who show the potential of being top rankers are given encouragement in the form of special attention and tailor made question papers that are tougher and difficult to answer. Students who are lagging behind are formed into small groups and a teacher is assigned to give them special attention. Students are encouraged to think scientifically and apply their knowledge to a variety of explorations and investigations under the strict guidance of the subject teachers. Velammal is also establishing Maths lab that makes learning this subject interesting and simple.

Being accurate in speech without ambiguity

In this materialistic world, where everyone expects something in return for any deed done, there is only one true friend who expects nothing in return. That friend is called a book. He never demands, he only gives information. How one receives it, depends on individual perception. Velammal Residential School has a vast library with a wide rang of books on various subjects. The collection also comprises journals, reference books, magazines and dailies. Students have access to this knowledge center from 9am to 5pm everyday. Special timings ate allotted to students to prepare their notes, taking the help of reference books available in the library. The library will have internet connectivity to browse through the web in a filtered way to gather additional information relating to their projects. The communication lab at Velammal residential school endeavors to hone the communication skills of the students and improve their grip on the English language both in oral and written form. Several foreign language courses as well as Business English certificate courses will be conducted in collaboration with the British Council.
