Velammal Educational Trust’s main aim is not only to impart knowledge to students in their skill sets; but also to inculcate in each one of them the love for mankind. The students are impressed upon the importance of community welfare and rural health programmes. Some of the social activities undertaken by the Velammal trust are: providing academic help to students in rural schools, building a community hall, Old age home, rehabilitating street urchins, providing scholarships, free education and stay in the hostels for several talented and economically weak students.

Velammal is running a rural hospital in Ladenandal, Sivagangai District, and the birthplace of the chairman. The needy are provided free treatment and free medicines. After completion of the super specialty Medical Hospital at Madurai, Velammal has plans to adopt some of the neighboring villages and launch some innovative health schemes to improve their quality of life. Most of medical services here will be provided free of cost and complicated surgeries will be done at nominal cost.

Velammal Educational Trust has participated and funded several relief camps organized to help the victims of natural calamities and social disasters. Students, teachers and management of Velammal have contributed huge amounts for such humanitarian causes. Eco friendly activities like planting of trees in all campuses and their surrounding areas too are a part of the social activities undertaken here.
