The Department of Information technology was started in the year 1999, with the aim of meting the need for quality IT professionals in the nation’s march towards digital age. Information Technology students at Velammal are hardworking, practical oriented and effective in any work environment. The Institution has designed unique syllabus along with the regular curriculum to strike a balance between technical knowledge and personal skills. This current curriculum will enable the overall development of the budding technocrats to the surpass expectations of the advanced and technologically developed world. Velammal also believes in constantly upgrading the curriculum and pedagogy to meet the changing needs of the Industry. The Curriculum is given effect to by a distinguished team of Faculty combining academic excellence and real world experience with dedication and commitment.To create an innovative and knowledge-based society through concurrent teaching practices in information Technology Velammal has established advanced software laboratories. The laboratories house 220-computer systems, connected to the campus-wide LAN. The laboratories are equipped with various soft wares with C, C++, Oracle, Visual Studio, Java and Case Tools.
